Frikstailers is the moniker of Argentinean producers Rafael Caivano and Lisandro Sona, who are also known for their remixes for artists such as Julieta Venegas, Bomba Estereo, Gotan Project, and El Guincho.

The duo says of the album and the two singles, “There are several love letters to Mexico hidden within the album. It’s a central element in the identity of the album’s art because it was essential and influential when creating it." It wasn’t just produced there, Rafa lived in Mexico for 7 years while Lisandro still lives there. The duo says, "Two instances where this love for Mexico shines through are: a small piece of a poem in Nahuatl that can be heard in the intro, and the name of a made-up city called “Telotihuán."'

"For us, "Afrotrip" is a take on the underground sounds of Lisbon. “Brinca” is an anthem for internal liberation. The hard part about this track was creating something hard-hitting that would be great for the dance floor but that at the same time could awaken something within each person listening to it. As if the soul wanted to escape in
order to dissolve the ego.”

Their new album, Extrasolar, includes features with Mateo Kingman,
Aterciopelados, La Yegros, and Marrón.
